Diversity in Relationships

In the Bay Area we are blessed with an ethnically diverse population from all corners of the world. We work together, live next door to each other and frequent the same parks, restaurants and social venues. It's inevitable that some  of us will  fall in love. The powerful bonds of love and attachment don't recognize skin color and see right past cultural norms.

While love is colorblind, our parents, colleagues, family and friends are not always so understanding. Prejudice and discrimination from those closest to us or to those we've never met, are unique challenges that interracial couples must face. These external pressures are an added force that tests the bounds of your relationship. At the Bay Area Center for Couples Therapy, we understand these challenges and work with issues into our EFT approach provide just and effective therapy. The lessons learned in Diversity Couples work will strengthen the relationship and help the couple weather the negative effects of prejudice and discrimination.
