Many new couples may see the potential for a great relationship, or experienced that great relationships in the beginning, but something may have changed. At the Bay Area Center for Couples Therapy, we work with new couples to help them get back what they once had or improve their relationship. Many new couples we work with are also looking to not repeat the mistakes of their past and start their relationship on a good foot. In all these situations, couples therapy can help.
At the Bay Area Center for Couples Therapy, we work with our couples using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), a highly effective form of couples therapy. When a relationship is going well, you feel you can turn to your partner and they will be there for you as well as feeling loved and accepted by your partner. When relationships aren't going well, we may feel like our partner isn't there for us when we turn to them to discuss our needs or when we need them for support. We may not even feel like they really love or accept us. With EFT, we can help change this as well as help you develop tools for communication.
